At Freedom, we believe creativity needs space in a very real, lived way. That’s why every year, we close our (physical) studio doors for July and August and open them somewhere else entirely. For two months, we work remotely, from wherever in the world we find ourselves.

Some of us return home. Some explore new cities. Some move slowly and intentionally, while others move fast and curiously. The only rule is to follow what sparks something.

This summer, we decided to mark this annual ritual a little differently in the spirit of curiosity and quiet inspiration. Each person at Freedom was invited to create their own series of visual “postcard dumps” as a curated diary of what sparked their curiosity and creativity over the summer, and what they might carry back into their work.

Our collage of perspectives includes scenes from Italy, Egypt, London, India, Bali, Beirut, Manila and beyond. Textures, colors, signs, shadows, stillness, mess, clarity, and energy weave through the separate lived narratives. Each set expresses something different, but together they serve as a reminder that a creative spark just needs someone who is willing to pay attention.

A studio, no matter how well-designed, can’t replace what the world gives you when you’re fully in it. As we return to our usual rhythm, we bring back more than tan lines and souvenirs. We return with ideas, instincts, and proof that freedom, in every sense of the word, makes better work.
